I have always been a keen motocross racer from an early age 10 years old. While riding motocross bikes I discovered I had a passion for working on motorcycles and soon became aware that this would not only be my passion but my life work. I started my apprenticeship in 1999 at Harry Pyne Motorcycles in Tamworth under the tutelage of Greg Gaskin. It was a fantastic experience, I completed most of my earlier training working on repairing Yamaha, Kawasaki and Honda motorcyles. After working for 6 years at Harry Pyne Motorcycles the shop changed it’s name to Ride! Motorcycles, I then transferred from Tamworth store to Narrabri to run the Ride! Motorcycle workshop there. I felt I learnt and experienced such a lot in such a small amount of time working there. The experienced I gained is on many different kinds of motorcycle repairs like suspension set ups and service, two and four stroke engine rebuilds and modifications, electrical diagnosis , service and repairs of all major motorcycle brands.
In 2007 I started work in Port Macquarie at Rock Motorcycles where I developed a new passion for repairing BMW motorcycles. I would go on to be extensively trained in the product with over 11yrs BMW training at the state of the art training facility in Melbourne. I have completed more than 15 courses and worked my way up from being a registered BMW motorcycle technician to achieving BMW Motorrad Master technician status. I have not only achieved this highest status with BMW but also with Honda motorcycles. I have completed all Honda training from certified, advanced through to Master Honda Technician completing endless amounts of training and testing to achieve this. In addition to this I have also completed extensive training for Husqvarna and KTM too, No one in Port Macquarie or the north coast has more experience on these products.
In 2017, as one chapter closes and a new one begins, We decided to create our own Motorcycle repair shop in Port Macquarie and HPN Moto Garage was born. Teaming up with Heath Pead we are the most qualified motorcycle repair technicians in Port Macquarie and the surrounding areas. Our goal is to deliver a high level of customer service and satisfaction while completing high quality motorcycle repairs for our customers. Heath Pead
I was born and bred in The Hastings and completed my Motorcycle mechanic apprenticeship here in Port Macquarie at Rock Motorcycles. On completion of my apprenticeship I was awarded the TAFE NSW State Medal for the highest pass mark for all automotive in NSW. I was also awarded the NETPAC automotive apprentice of the year. Shortly after completing my apprenticeship I moved to the UK where I worked for Vines of Guildford BMW, in surrey, one of the biggest BMW motorbike dealerships in the country. In 2008 I returned home to Port Macquarie and complete my BMW Master Technician upgrade and in 2009 I also became a Honda Master technician and have continued to work in the industry since.
I am passionate about motorcycles and the technical aspect of motorcycles. I have recently gotten back into racing, competing in the Motostars Road Racing Series. This is a new series where we race 150cc road bikes on go-kart tracks. My other interests include spending time with family, travelling and powered Paragliding.
